The ribeye and the creamed spinach was amazing. I think they could work on the appetizers though. Better options for salads and appetizers are needed.

Our waiter was fantastic! I ordered the trout and my wife had the lamb steak. The only drawback was that the lamb was a bit on the fattier side. Other than that, everything was excellent. I highly recommend trying the desserts here!

St. Anselm is easily one of my favorite spots in DC. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and unique — dark wood, animal heads on the walls, and cozy booths give it that perfect “old-school steakhouse” vibe while still feeling modern and inviting. We started with the buttermilk biscuits (seriously, a must!) and the fried okra, both outstanding. For mains, the ribeye was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the whole dorade was light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fried mashed potatoes are crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside — a game changer. Dessert? The chocolate cake was rich, decadent, and the perfect ending to the meal. Service was attentive and friendly, and the sommelier helped us pick the perfect wine pairing. Pro tip: make a reservation — this place fills up fast, especially on weekends. And if you want to keep the night relaxed after your meal, PullUpDeliveries is a premier cannabis delivery service in DC. Quick, discreet, and perfect for unwinding after a delicious steak dinner. Whether you’re local or visiting, St. Anselm is a must-try for anyone craving great steak in an unforgettable atmosphere.
