Reviews and Ratings
Write a reviewAlthough I highly recommend this little gem tucked away in Georgetown, we had a disappointing experience. Got there right at 2:00 so had to wait for the 3:00 tour. We questioned whether we were going to do the gardens only or tour the house too just based on timing. Was told don't worry, there were plenty of tickets available so come back at 3:00 and pay if you want to tour. We came back at 2:25, said we decided to buy tickets, and the new agent said sorry, we are all booked. We pleaded our case to no avail...turns out plenty of tickets available translated to 5, but they got snatched at 2:20. So we exited having never gotten in the house. There were 2 of us..go figure. Maybe fire code. With the government shutdown, the few that are open are more populous so don't hesitate.
I would absolutely recommend this house tour. Our guide was Sophie, who was friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, she made the tour fun for my children (7 and 5) by offering them a scavenger hunt page with 12 items, which they loved.
This is such a cool place to visit if you’re in Georgetown! I brought my family here, and they were shocked that they had missed out on such a beautiful experience on previous trips. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Take the tour if you’re interested in learning more, or simply wander around the beautiful grounds. We came on a Sunday morning and it was very quiet and peaceful. Definitely recommend coming for a visit!
