About

The Venetian Gardens are one of the most enchanting joint creations of man and nature. The park area was established by order of Napoleon and is located in the historical center of the city. The gardens appeared as a result of draining the marshes near the Bacino di San Marco strait, which separates the gardens from the Doge's Palace. Since the late 19th century, the park regularly hosts an important cultural event in Italy - the Venice Biennale. There are 30 pavilions in the gardens, where various exhibitions are held during the festival. Also, the Venetian Gardens are home to numerous cats, which, by the way, are protected by the city. In addition, the park area features magnificent sculptures, such as the statue of Garibaldi, a monument to the poet G. Carducci, and the Wagner monument.
