About

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Catherine stands proudly in Toruń as a shining example of brick architecture. Known for its unique tower design, where the structure splits into two, it is arguably the most beautiful church in the city. The basilica's interior features stunning Gothic paintings alongside Baroque and Rococo altars, beautifully accented by a majestic Neo-Gothic structure.

Inside, visitors will find the Tree of Life crucifix from the late 1300s, amidst beautiful star vaulting. The church, once a Protestant place of worship, has preserved its original interior layout and boasts colorful decorations dating back to 1929. During Christmas, its lovely nativity scenes add a special charm to its serene and clean ambiance, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist crowds. With accessibility for persons with disabilities, it remains a top-rated attraction with a 4.6 average rating on Google.

Piękna, monumentalna budowla, o bogato zdobionym wnętrzu - acz nie pozbawionym klimatu zadumy. Architektonicznie wnętrze skojarzyło mi się z galeonem, ale to prywatna opinia.
