Soulfood in Bad Cannstatt – leider nur teilweise überzeugt Ich war gestern in dem kleinen Laden und habe mir ein Kumru, ein Philly Cheese Sandwich sowie Patatas Bravas bestellt. Der Herr hinter der Theke wirkte leider etwas reserviert, ein freundlicherer Empfang hätte dem Besuch gutgetan. Auch der Laden selbst machte auf mich einen eher durchwachsenen Eindruck – nicht ungepflegt, aber auch nicht besonders einladend. Geschmacklich fand ich das Kumru durchaus lecker, wenn auch nicht herausragend. Es war solide, aber sicher nicht das beste, das ich bisher gegessen habe. Das Philly Cheese Sandwich hingegen konnte mich leider überhaupt nicht überzeugen. Das Fleisch war geschmacklich kaum präsent, einzig der Käse stach deutlich hervor und überdeckte den Rest. Die Brötchen bei beiden Gerichten waren ebenfalls eher durchschnittlich – weder besonders fluffig noch aromatisch. Am besten haben mir die Patatas Bravas gefallen. Die Kartoffelecken waren schön knusprig und dunkelbraun frittiert, und der Knoblauchdip dazu war geschmacklich wirklich sehr gut. Hier hat alles gut zusammengepasst. Insgesamt kann ich den Laden nur eingeschränkt empfehlen. Wenn ich Lust auf ein gutes Sandwich oder ein Kumru habe, würde ich persönlich andere Adressen bevorzugen. Die Beilagen hingegen waren überzeugend – vielleicht lohnt sich ein Besuch für einen kleinen Snack.
