Die Burg Hofen wurde 1289 zum erstmalig erwähnt. Weil sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits fertig war, dürfte der Baubeginn 20 bis 30 Jahr früher gewesen sein, also 1260 bis 1270. Heute ist die Burg nur noch eine Ruine. Man hat von hier einen schönen Blick auf den Neckar.
