Die Kirche Santa Cruz ist eine der vielen beeindruckenden Kirchen Sevillas. Sie gehört zu den Pfarreien, die direkt nach der kastilischen Eroberung der Stadt im Jahr 1248 gegründet wurden. Der heutige Bau entstand Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts im gotisch-mudéjarischen Stil. Ende des 16. oder Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts wurde der Hauptteil umgebaut, das Presbyterium erweitert und zwei Seitenkapellen – San Juan Nepomuceno (später Villalpando) und Maestres – hinzugefügt. Im 18. Jahrhundert folgten weitere Kapellen und Renovierungen. Heute ist sie das Hauptquartier der Bruderschaft San Isidoro, die am Karfreitag eine Prozession abhält. Ein historisches und architektonisches Highlight.
