Service was phenomenal Food was okay Dessert was pretty Our spinach salad had too many overcooked bacon. It’s nice to have crunchy and salty bacon bits but it’s way too much. Spinach salad was the best part of our dinner but it wasn’t something extraordinary special. In terms of steak, we expected bit more from the $100 porterhouse steak. Shared it with my husband. It seems big but subtracting the bone, it’s about 800g, good amount for two. Our steak was tad dry. We got potato gratin and asparagus for the sides. Both were good but nothing extraordinary. All in all it was a good meal but not a memorable steak. Dessert looked so pretty I wanted to get it as soon as walked in and saw it on others table. However, it was an okay dessert nothing amazing. The best thing on the cake was the strawberry. Perhaps if passion fruit sauce had more flavor, it could’ve been very tasty. Instead of more cream on top, they could’ve topped it with icecream or a sorbet. It seemed as if something was missing.

A local institution for over 40 years, Harris Steakhouse is a lovely restaurant in the Nob Hill neighborhood. My wife loved her bourbon Manhattan and my bourbon old fashioned was crafted like they did when the place opened complete with muddled old school cherries. Proper drinks at premium prices. The onion rings were classic old school steakhouse style. Cooked and seasoned perfectly with no onion worms while eating. My wife’s 2 and a half pound lobster with meat pulled from the shell was delicious. As were the steamed clams that accompanied it. Her mashed potatoes were weak and the sautéed spinach was tasty. My Harris cut NY strip was disappointing as it was tough and the knife not sharp enough. I expected better certainty more tender meat than I was served. The $3 up charge on 3 tiny pieces of asparagus wasn’t worth it. The baked potato was perfect. Service was generally outstanding except for the drink specialist with the hard sell all night and quick hook on our mixed drink glasses. Dessert was crème brûlée and delicious cappuccinos.

Had an exceptional time here! We’re not big spenders but we decided to splurge for my birthday and it was so worth it. The service was superb, the food was perfect, and my server helped me pick out a scotch. They even brought me a delicious complimentary mousse!
