Ik verwachtte gewoon een snelle hap, maar Wok Express heeft me echt positief verrast. Voor slechts €12 kreeg ik een wokgerecht dat restaurantwaardig was — zowel qua smaak, portie als presentatie. Ik koos voor rundvlees in zwarte bonensaus met groenten en nasi. Het vlees was supermals en royaal aanwezig, de saus vol smaak met échte gefermenteerde zwarte bonen erin (je zag ze zitten — geen goedkope boemboe). De groenten waren knapperig en vers, en de nasi voelde totaal niet vet of zwaar aan. Alles was perfect in balans, voedzaam en ontzettend lekker. Wat ook opviel: de snelheid van de service. Binnen een paar minuten zat ik al buiten aan tafel op het gezellige kleine terras, waar het eten ook nog eens werd gebracht. Geen gedoe met wachten aan de balie of plastic tassen — het voelde veel relaxter dan je van een afhaalplek zou verwachten. Al met al: dit is absoluut geen doorsnee Surinaams-Chinees afhaaladres. De kwaliteit is véél hoger dan je op basis van de lage prijs zou verwachten. Ik kom hier zeker terug — voor smaak, sfeer én macro’s. 💪🍽️
