Blijdorp Zoo – School Holiday Survival Edition Visited during Dutch school holidays… big mistake. Picture this: unsupervised kids turning the aquarium into a football goalpost (glass included), shrieking like they were auditioning for a horror movie, and parents nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, some visitors rolled in with trailers packed like they were moving house, making the narrow paths feel like rush hour on the A13. Big primates and felines? Nowhere. Probably hiding from the chaos (and frankly, I envied them). The park itself is spotless and well-kept, but if you value your sanity and want to actually see animals, do yourself a favour – go outside school holidays. Unless, of course, you’re studying the behaviour of the wildest species of all: the human child.

Mooie diergaarde in Rotterdam. Ruim van opzet. Heel dichtbij parkeren. Het aantal dieren viel mij iets tegen, ik had er wat meer van verwacht. Voor kinderen veel speeltuinen van goede kwaliteit. Van mij krijgt Blijdorp een 7,5.

Dafna van Baden

Prachtige dierentuin en heel groot dus je kunt er een gehele dag (en je stappenteller) mee vullen. Wij namen de stadsingang vanaf het station, was nog een kwartier lopen en een kleine rij voor de ingang maar goed te doen. Met online tickets en abonnementen kon je wel snel doorlopen maar wij hadden korting met de Vriendenloterij en dit kon je niet online regelen.
