About

Just a couple of dozen steps away from the historic Dome Square awaits its regular patrons at the Rigensis confectionery. It seems this place is never empty - the fragrant scent of freshly-baked treats acts like a magnet on the passersby, constantly drawing in the distracted tourist into its "sugary" embrace.

It's virtually impossible to walk past the confectionery and not notice the mirrored showcase behind which cream cakes, pastries sprinkled with fine almond slivers, and popular Riga buns with poppy seeds and cinnamon languish. For visitors, Rigensis has two spacious halls available, as well as the option to take orders to go. The only thing that might upset an impatient tourist is the live queue that is always present here. However, the residents of Riga have long been accustomed to this and regard it as a "ritual," without which access to the coveted sweets cannot be gained.
