About

The National Theatre building is one of Prague's hallmarks; it was constructed with donations from Czechs, even coining the slogan "Nation to itself". Beginning operations in 1881, the theatre almost immediately experienced a fire but was quickly rebuilt and by 1883 once again opened its doors to visitors. Although it was planned as a venue for national art, today, it successfully hosts works of international drama as well. It also has branches - the Kolowrat Theatre and the Estates Theatre.

Besides performances, tourists are drawn to the building's beautiful architecture and interior decoration. For example, its dome with the golden crown is visible from almost every corner of the Czech capital.

Krásné divadlo. Lepší je si objednat a rezervovat občerstvení předem. Pak ho máte připravené na stolku a nemusíte čekat ve frontě. Obsluha příjemná.
