The Magdalen is my local and i have loved it since day one. The pub is great come rain or shine, the selection of drinks is great and quite affordable. The bartenders are passionate and knowledgeable, happy to go off the menu if you want something specific and they have it. The cocktails i've had have also been brilliant. The staff are super friendly and happy to talk to you. This is one of the few places i love going with friends or family, on my own to read, or on a date. I've only ever had a couple snacks here, like padron peppers, chips, bread and sorbet but the food always looks incredible and i often hear people praising how good it is. The menu changes daily and is written on the blackboard, focused on seasonality and freshness. In addition they have some great bar snacks, massive doostop sandwiches and home-baked sweet treats. Whenever i decide to leave the local area to another part of Oxford, i'll still come back to the pub for the people, the vibe and all the rest.
