Gimmicky, yes. Delicious, also yes. A nice sturdy sourdough bowl that can hold the warm soup-y liquid for the duration of the meal. I was in the mood for something simple and comforting - the Mac n cheese bowl really hit the spot without tasting tiringly flat by the end. My only suggestion is that the bread to food ratio is quite off, a small bread bowl and an extra filling portion was a much better balance.
