St. Hanshaugen Park is one of the most charming and lively green spaces in Oslo, just a short walk from the city centre. The park itself is beautiful, with rolling hills, ponds, old trees, and plenty of hidden corners to explore. It is popular with both locals and visitors, and has a very relaxed and welcoming vibe. On sunny days, you’ll see families, couples, joggers, and groups of friends spread out across the lawns enjoying picnics or just soaking up the atmosphere. For those who enjoy fitness, the outdoor “Tuftepark” gym is a great place to train, and it’s always full of energy and positive people. In the summer months, the pavilion in the middle of the park often hosts concerts and events, adding even more life to the area. There’s also a cozy restaurant right in the park itself, which makes it easy to grab a drink or meal after a stroll. The neighbourhood surrounding St. Hanshaugen is just as appealing. Here you’ll find one of Oslo’s best organic grocery stores (Røtter), offering high-quality vegetables and health products. Next to the park is the famous delicatessen Gutta på Haugen, which also serves some of the city’s best soft-serve ice cream with unique toppings. Families will also appreciate the excellent local kindergarten and the overall safe, community-friendly feeling of the area. Overall, St. Hanshaugen combines nature, culture, food, and everyday Oslo life in a perfect way. Whether you come to relax, exercise, eat, or simply enjoy the view, this neighbourhood is one of the city’s hidden gems. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
