A pochi passi dal Duomo esiste un Museo interamente dedicato al Santo Patrono della città di Napoli che custodisce uno dei tesori più preziosi al mondo, il cui valore si dice superi addirittura quello dei gioielli della Corona d’Inghilterra e degli Zar di Russia Il Museo del Tesoro di San Gennaro offre agli occhi di chi deciderà di visitarlo una preziosissima collezione di gioielli, dipinti, sculture, statue, arredi in argento, tessuti e tantissimi altri incredibili capolavori, tutti donati dai devoti al Santo negli ultimi 7 secoli. La visita vi condurrà attraverso un vero e proprio percorso di meraviglie in cui brillano, tra migliaia di diamanti, rubini e smeraldi, la splendida Mitra gemmata con 3694 pietre preziose, la leggendaria Collana realizzata in 250 anni con le donazioni di regnanti di tutta Europa, la Croce in smeraldi e diamanti donata da re Umberto I, il Calice in oro e pietre preziose donato da re Ferdinando IV e la Pisside gemmata donata da re Ferdinando II. Un patrimonio dal valore inestimabile che, attraverso gioielli e opere d’oro e argento di altissimo pregio, testimonia non solo la maestria artistica partenopea ed internazionale ma anche la storia secolare della straordinaria fede di un popolo nel suo Santo Patrono.
