Niektóre miejsca zmuszają cię do zatrzymania się. Nie z ciekawości. Z szacunku. Mauzoleum na końcu Drogi Hołdu i Pamięci właśnie takie jest. To potężna betonowa forma przypominająca zawieszoną nad ziemią misę. Nie ma ścian. Nie chroni od wiatru. Stoi w otwartym terenie, jakby celowo – by pokazać, że prawda o tym miejscu nie potrzebuje zamknięcia. Pod spodem – ziemia i prochy ofiar. Nie w urnach. Nie za szybą. Leżą tam, widoczne. Jakby cały świat miał zobaczyć, czym kończy się nienawiść. W środku cisza. Ale nie pusta – to gęsta cisza, która mówi więcej niż jakikolwiek przewodnik. Słychać w niej historie tych, którzy nie zdążyli opowiedzieć swojej. Nad głową widać napis: „Los nasz dla was przestrogą.” Krótko. Dosadnie. I trafia w samo serce.

Koniecznie trzeba zobaczyć. Możliwość przejścia przez sąsiadujący z Majdankiem cmentarz (przed nim jest darmowy parking) i zobaczenia rozległego historycznego terenu przez mur. Nie było żadnego problemu by być na terenie cmentarza z psem.
