Coffee and service were great. The desserts were really good too! A tad pricey.

Overall it’s a nice place. Positives: • The coffee is very nice, I especially really enjoy their filter coffee every time, which I really appreciate. • The staff are nice and friendly people. • I really appreciate that they open at 7am. It’s hard to find this in the UK. • I really appreciate that they have WiFi. • Clean bathroom. • The space is cozy and nicely decorated, I like the books especially. Negatives: • In my opinion, the music is way, WAY too loud. At 7am the music is absolutely blasting and it tends to be very base & beat-heavy music that I would never want to listen to that time of the morning. I literally put my noise-cancelling AirPods in and then over-ear headphones on top to desperately try and make things quieter, but this is very uncomfortable and even then, sometimes I genuinely just can’t stand the noise and have to go home. I just think this level of noise is totally unbearable and - as someone who has worked in many coffee shops and managed on - I understand for the staff it can be nice to get the energy flowing on an early-morning shift… but I feel this totally disregards the environment you create for the customers. • Sometimes the staff go outside to smoke and sit right next to the door, so the smoke comes into the cafe and I have to smell it the whole time that person is smoking. Personally, I really hate cigarette smoke and I once again feel the customer’s are being disregarded when they are forced to inhale cigarette smoke or have the smell of it, at the convenience of the staff. • I have been a loyal customer and collect stamps. One time I forgot my card and started a new one, every cafe I’ve ever been to with a physical stamp card will happily combine them for you. When I tried to combine them, I was told “we don’t do that because it wastes paper”. While I can appreciate this: (1) their stamp cards have the thickest paper I’ve ever seen, (2) there’s an entire half of the card that is totally unused for stamps and only contains their logo which feels very wasteful, (3) if they are very concerned about paper waste, there are many paperless options that other cafes used. This isn’t a big issue, it just felt quite hypocritical, and also not very deep-thinking. The extra card I had contained 1 stamp only - they could have easily just taken it and the next person who starts a new card gets that one — easily solved ✅ • The pastries (at least first thing in the morning) often tasted a little bit stale or not super fresh. I think they have more options later so maybe this improves, I’m not sure. But I felt disappointed several times with the pastry quality so stopped buying them.
