Maybe we went on a bad day, but I found the experience of visiting La Mia Mamma super disappointing, especially given how good it's meant to be. It took forever for be served at every stage of the meal, even though tables around us were being attended to frequently. It's like we were in a blind spot or something - perhaps this is why we had four different waiters serve us and why we had to constantly ask for their attention. Once we finally ordered our drinks, they took forever to come. We actually saw our beers (half pints) sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes before they were brought over, by which time they were warm. We also had to ask for water three different times. We were sitting outside on a hot day, so really felt it. Being Sicilian I was excited to try the pasta alla norma, which I must say was pretty good once it arrived (tasty sauce, al dente), but I was surprised to find cheese melted on top with the dish - normally it's sprinkled on at the time of serving. It also didn't taste or look like the ricotta salata it's meant to be but rather like parmesan, I hope I'm wrong. In our group, my partner had the Ziti, and another couple had the orata and ortolana. Portions are pretty generous, so you should walk away full. Pastas and pizzas cost around £15-20 while mains are between £20-30, so I'd say the former are on the pricier side while mains are more reasonable. We would have gotten a dessert but by that time we were just fed up with the service. We instead decided to ask for the bill and even that took so long that I eventually got up and went inside to request it myself. They charged us for olives, which were an item we ordered but never arrived. When I pointed this out I was met with a suspicious shrug, as if I was making it up. No apology. Receipt was reprinted and again we had to wave someone over to pay the bill. With one main dish and a drink each the bill came to around £30 per person, including a 13% service charge, which is rich for the service we got. I'm giving three stars because my friends liked their food and my pasta was pretty good, but the service was pretty shocking for a newer place. I hear the pizzas are good but I can't say I'll be back to try them.

Amazing for vegetarians! I had the cacio e Pepe and it was phenomenal! Staff were all extremely kind and helpful and atmosphere was lovely. They have heaters outside so all 5 outside tables were full, spilling the atmosphere outside too. Good prices too!! We had a little complimentary bruschetta before our meal which was delicious too. Would love to go back next time I’m in the area
