Fatu greeted us with such warmth at the rooftop bar and recommended an exquisite gin cocktail that elevated our evening. Combining excellent drinks and the skyline view was a match made in heaven!

I visited Joia in Battersea to celebrate my 35th birthday and, unfortunately, I left slightly disappointed. The service and atmosphere were lovely – the staff were attentive and the setting is beautiful – but the food did not quite meet expectations. Coming from a Portuguese family, we were really looking forward to enjoying authentic flavours, but sadly the dishes felt a little underwhelming. The restaurant had run out of the lamb dish, there were no Portuguese beers available, the monkfish arrived cold, and while the seafood rice was fine, it lacked the depth of flavour we’re used to. Overall, it was still a pleasant afternoon thanks to the ambience and service, but the food didn’t live up to the high standards we had hoped for.

Cristian guided us through the wine list with insight and friendliness. Topped off with panoramic views of Battersea, we felt properly looked after and relaxed. He’s truly the rooftop whisperer!
