The food was good. Service was so so. Sometimes hard to get the attention of the waiter. I enjoyed the food and so did my family. I forgot to take pics of the sweet and sour pork and fried rice! I was just so hungry.

Went for Dim Sum on an extremely hot humid Friday. Gold Mine is an easy to find location just off Shaftesbury Ave at the beginning of Chinatown London. Outside in London the area was busy and packed, suddenly I was ushered into the cool, lightly air conditioned serene atmosphere of Gold Mine. We were seated upstairs so well away from any street noise leaking into the establishment. The decor was pleasant. Our server Connie was knowledgeable and offered drinks immediately. The cool Tiger beer a great welcome in the heat. My companion ordered as she was far more knowledgable than myself on the menu. Dumplings were freshly made, varied and all delicious. Prawn fillings and pork were our main choices mostly. However my favourite were the spring rolls they were delicious. The buns filled with custard were soft, gooey and scrumptious. Unfortunately we were so busy talking and eating we completely forgot to take any photographs! We had more than enough of a variety of Dim Sum and I will certainly return to Gold Min. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and service.

If possible, always go to the main restaurant in Bayswater - always great and hardly dissapoints. If not, the China Town branch is an OK substitute.
