🚇 Denmark Hill 🍺 £6.70 Cruzcampo The Tiger is located in the heart of Camberwell opposite Camberwell Green in South London. The nearest station being Denmark Hill on the Windrush Line. This pub was originally called The Tiger’s Head and was built in 1826. In recent years, it was known as The Silver Buckle, but reverted to its historic name of The Tiger after the name and beautiful tiles were uncovered during renovations in 2009. This is a large, high-ceilinged, one-bar pub that has a traditional feel with contemporary touches. The servery is located along the back wall and features a solid counter and a mirrored back bar. The main bar area is spacious, with poser tables down the middle and low-level tables and chairs by the windows. At the front left, there is a small, colourful room with banquette seating and an old Joanna. Behind this room is a secluded, raised section with funky wallpaper and a period fireplace. To the side of the pub, there is a small beer garden with benches. The beer selection will please the masses, with a line-up of familiar tipples and three cask ales. I opted for a Cruzcampo; my pint hit the spot, price point was above average. There is currently no food being served. I arrived just after 3 p.m. on a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon in May. There were about a dozen or so punters in attendance, and the atmosphere was chilled and laid-back. The service was great—the team on duty were welcoming, friendly, and good-natured. This pub hosts regular Karaoke and quiz nights. This Antic pub is a real departure from their usual shabby-chic, “sofa rescued from a skip” trademark look. The exterior’s green tiles are gorgeous, the bar area is stylish yet comfortable, the beer is spot-on, and the hospitality is bang on the money. This SE5 boozer is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. We ordered via their online menu but after an hour we asked where our meal was and the order had gone missing. Great food but service seemed to be focused on the higher value alcohol purchases. Edit. Ooops... So sorry... I had the names mixed up. I don't drink alcoholic drinks so I think this picked up being nearby... I am sure your service and atmosphere is awesome. Thank you for the polite response. My experience is that many would snap and be nasty... Will definetly come in for a Coke when I am back in the area. Adjusted the review to 5 Stars!
