This corner pub in South London is a real charmer. Outside you’ll find barrels to lean on with a pint, as well as proper tables if you want to settle in. The crowd is friendly, with plenty of couples on dates, and the whole place has a quaint, old-fashioned look that still feels fresh and modern. Service is handled by a young team who are warm, polite, and helpful. The pork tacos were the standout dish, absolutely delicious, though the terrine and a few other plates were more on the average side. Drinks-wise, they’ve got a decent beer range, and I like that the pub works equally well indoors and outdoors. It’s a cosy, stylish spot that still feels approachable and relaxed.

I always write reviews so this is not one just to complain. Let’s start with the food 10/10 if not more the chef done an amazing job not one thing I would complain about. Had the beef roast and the chicken roast along side the cauliflower cheese all was absolutely delicious. The service when we first arrived was fine the man came up asked if we wanted drinks as we were not ready he and kept a look out and came back took our order very polite the food came nice and quick piping hot. If someone had come during the meal as they usually do in hospitality to ask if everything was ok then the problems would not have occurred we had no condiments had to leave our meal to get these, we then had to go to get the extra gravy we had asked for as it didn’t arrive which took ages, we then could not find anyone to pay the bill. Once we did we then waited and nobody came back so had to ask for the card machine. We then asked to remove the service charge as we would have liked to give to the chef and the original man that helped us as everything else we did for ourselves they said we could not do this and the woman became very hostile toned at this point she started to come across annoyed and was speaking unprofessionally as we wanted to choose who should receive the tip. Regardless of her personal opinion we have every right to remove any service charge it’s not that we didn’t want to give (we always leave a tip everywhere we dine as I used to work hospitality and understand the meaning of this) it’s just to whom it should go to (we had not seen this woman once during our 2 and a half hour time there). Once she had gone to remove the charge she never returned looking in she was looking over to us and speaking to another member of staff (I would love to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation lol) again leaving us to go and find someone to pay the bill still she was very hostile in attitude even on paying. It was not exceptionally busy just a standard Sunday at the roundhouse. I usually have fine experiences here but this week we were quite disappointed. BUT AGAIN thank u to the chef and our first man helper you both did an amazing job.
