The Leather Exchange — A Missed Opportunity in Southwark Tucked away on Leathermarket Street, The Leather Exchange looks promising from the outside: a classic pub with a touch of character. But behind the vintage brickwork and cozy signage, our experience fell flat. What Didn’t Work: Service — staff were inattentive and, at times, borderline rude. We didn’t feel welcome, and basic requests were met with sighs or confusion. Atmosphere — despite the charming decor, the vibe was cold and uninviting. It felt more like a place you stumble into than one you’d choose to return to. Food & Drinks — average at best. The menu sounded better than it tasted, and the drinks lacked care — flat beer, watery cocktails. Noise & Layout — awkward seating, echoey acoustics, and no real flow to the space. Final Thought: The Leather Exchange might work for a quick pint if you’re nearby, but for us, it was a one-and-done. With so many warm, welcoming pubs in London, this one just didn’t earn a second chance.

The Leather Exchange is one of my favourite pubs in London! So close to London Bridge, but somehow still quietly tucked away, with the feeling of a true local pub. Really lovely staff, great food, and a beautiful function room upstairs! Can't recommend it highly enough. :)
