It’s the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately want to stay awhile. The atmosphere is cozy and traditional, with wood-panelled walls, friendly regulars, and a sense of history that gives it real character. The beer selection is solid — well-kept ales, crisp lagers, and a few rotating casks — and the prices are refreshingly reasonable for central London. We enjoyed a few drinks with colleagues, played a board game from the shelf, and even tried one of their famous toasties. Nothing fancy, just good pub food done right. Verdict: The Devereux is a hidden gem — relaxed, welcoming, and full of old-school charm. Perfect for a quiet pint, a casual catch-up, or escaping the bustle of the city for an hour or two

We visited The Devereaux as part of a 007 James Bond experience. Friendly staff good beer nice surroundings in a quieter part of London near the Strand.
