It was a very hot day, so I popped in for a cheeky half pint of Guinness. I had my 16 year old and 6 year old with me, one had a bottle of water, the other had a coke zero or Pepsi max (I don't recall which they served) I had previously told them about the pubs history, and we had a look around. We ended up sitting in their beautiful beer garden, which was comfortably busy and even though people were talking, it was not loud. We arrived at approximately 6pm. We drank our drinks, then after an hour or so, we left to drive back to Southend-on-Sea. All areas were clean and tidy. The 3 members of staff were polite and courteous. I would recommend and would definitely return if I'm in the area.
