The new female manager is without a doubt the worst thing to happen to this pub. I’ve been coming here since I moved a couple of years ago and have always been met by the smiley young man (slicked hair) who always has time for a joke and a laugh with the customers. I forget his name but we always called him Mateo because of the guy from Benidorm. He is a big part of the reason why it quickly became my local and why we kept on coming. This lady was an O-K bartender but since she’s started running things the place has taken a nose dive. She’s SO RUDE to customers, never smiles and the staff working with her look miserable and so scared to make a mistake around her. The moment she walks away they start laughing and having a joke together again. It’s sad to see. BRING BACK MATEO.

Cracking pub, good selection, and good quality beer and spirits. We had a chance to try bottomless brunch, and we had a fantastic time in an amazing garden. Highly recommend Instagram @mr.simon.templar
