Cracking little pub, this. The Golden Lion at James has proper good atmosphere – none of that pretentious stuff, just a warm welcome and a decent pint. The food’s spot on as well, big hearty portions that don’t leave you hungry. Staff make it though, don’t they? Lewis is a top lad, always up for a bit of banter and makes sure you’re looked after. And Phillip, well he runs things smooth as owt – quick service, nowt’s too much trouble. Feels like your local even if it’s your first visit. Can’t fault it, we’ll be back again and again

Didn't have food so can't mark it. Bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Beer wasn't bad either.
