I saw yesterday this show: The Genesis by the troupe of artists/acrobats/performers called Copenhagen collective. The Peacock they’re is associated with Sadlers Wells, renowned for dance and physical expression in every form that this art might take. The Genesis is unlike anything that has been done before. It is a mixture between dance, acrobatics, capoeira, even kabuki, with innuendos and inspirations that range from winking to Pose, or the ball scenes from Paris is burning, to the raves or techno dance of the clubbing in the 90s, to the circensian art popularised by Cirque du soleil . It’s definitely wrong to categorise what they do, but, it is a compelling show, executed beautifully, aesthetically stunning, performed with precision and incredible technique by every member of the cast. It is an hour long without interval, and it can be described as a series of tableaux that are animated and constantly evolving in mood, physicality, lightning, and the music that redefines the mood and the atmosphere. It is a mesmerising show. It will constantly make you wonder between the feeling of “ wow, if there is any mistake from any member of the ensemble, someone is going to be seriously injured “, and “ how did they manage to do that??!!!!”. It is forbidden to take pics or videos during the performance, but it is unnecessary as this show will stay with you and it’s probably going to be remembered for a very long time ! 2 more days left, I strongly recommend to go and see it.

Excellent theatre venue with great accessibility for elderly, & disabled. Would probably make the signs on wall at theatre doors for seating numbers/ rows a littler easier to read. Black on gold not so easy to see.
