I'll be honest - I'd never heard of Castros until a work mate told me about it! As a foodie I was astonished and ashamed 🫣 My son and I visited on Saturday 23rd August around 2pm. . . What an absolute food gem! No wonder I hadn't seen it - it's hidden down a little side street and my eyesight is terrible but tastebuds enhanced to make up for it! 👀 As we walked in the vibe took over! Salsa music playing - everybody was smiling/laughing, staff and customers. I felt like dancing like JLo on steroids. We ordered The Mechada - pulled brisket with roasted peppers, onions, cheese and Mojo Picon which is a salsa 👌🏽 and The Pollo - chicken marinaded in garlic, parsley and olive oil, with fonita cheese, salad and mayo. We also ordered the brisket loaded fries 🫣👌🏽Two glasses of Estrella Galicia and we were more than good to go! Everything in here is super fresh! We sat outside on two chairs with a beer keg for our table. Loved it! Literally 5 mins and the waitress brought our food and beers out! Incredible service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food . . . Wow - wow - wow! The butties were massive! The bread was perfect to carry the load. Firm and crusty on the outside yet deliciously soft inside. Every bite was a taste sensation. Luckily each huge butty was cut in half so we shared our precious butties. Both The Merchada and Pollo were incredible in their own rights. The pulled brisket of The Mechada was melt in the mouth sensational! The garlic chicken and fondue cheese of The Pollo was incredible. Both flavour bombs going off blew our heads off! I kid you not 👌🏽 The loaded fries were also incredible. The pulled brisket again with cheese and house sauce - to die for 👌🏽 We both agreed that these were without doubt the 'best' butties we had ever eaten! That is no exaggeration 🙏🏼 Castros is now on our favourite places to eat in Liverpool. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Castros 🙏🏼

First visit and hopefully not the last cause I would like to go back there again and again to enjoy a great weekend. Staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and the food was delicious. I do like spicy food but what I ordered definitely has been added to one of my favourites meal since I am fussy when it comes to food :) They are opened Monday to Saturday and believe they close on Sunday, so best to check on the page before heading there. Definitely worth a visit

What a lovely cozy Spanish eatery. You'd be welcomed with Spanish music and warmth. Dine in if you can, it's small but you get to enjoy the vibe.
