We visited as part of a prearranged fancy dress bar crawl (where we were assured that our outfits would be accepted). After having been in the bar for over an hour I was suddenly approached by an aggressive man demanding I take my hat off (I was in fancy dress as a cowboy). I was confused as to who this person was (they were not clearly identified as security). I was informed that wearing a hat indoors is deeply offensive in this otherwise sanctimonious part of Lisbon so I decided to leave rather than bow to the pressure of the door staff or risk physical violence. Best avoided.
