About

The Rudolf Fountain is not just a refined decoration of the city, but also the principal symbol of the unification of the Tyrol and Austria lands. Installed in the colorful Bozner Square in honor of the 500th anniversary, this fountain-monument depicts Duke Rudolf IV, who played a crucial role in the annexation of the Tyrolean region - with his cunning, the ruler persuaded Margaret Maultasch to transfer the rights of ownership of the Tyrolean County. For the seven years of his reign, this member of the Habsburg family pursued the policy of uniting lands, for which he was honored with such an attractive monument in the Tyrol's capital.

The bronze sculpture, about 2 meters high, was crafted by the renowned sculptor Friedrich Schmidt and harmoniously complements the complex structure of the fountain, being located in the central district of the city.
