e stumbled upon this restaurant by chance whilst exploring the old town in Granada. We had lunch and were so impressed that we made a reservation for an evening meal a few days later on our last evening. Excellent menu with imaginative vegetarian options. Nice wine list, good service, and lovely location with a fabulous view of the Alhambra.

El Trillo – Toller Ausblick, solide Küche mit Luft nach oben Auf Empfehlung haben wir im El Trillo einen Tisch reserviert – mit dem Wunsch, abends mit Blick auf die Alhambra zu essen. Wichtig: Nur von der Terrasse aus ist dieser Blick möglich, der Garten selbst bietet ihn nicht, ist aber ebenfalls sehr schön gestaltet. Die Speisekarte ist per QR-Code in mehreren Sprachen verfügbar und bietet eine gute Auswahl an Fisch-, Fleisch- und Reisgerichten. Wir entschieden uns für eine gemeinsame Vorspeise (Artischocken), etwas Brot mit Olivenöl und zwei Reisgerichte. Das Olivenöl ist recht würzig und kratzt leicht im Hals – sicher nicht jedermanns Sache, aber für mich genau richtig. Unsere Hauptgerichte waren geschmacklich gut, allerdings leider etwas zu kalt. Vermutlich wurde der Reis nur aufgewärmt. Wir haben kurz überlegt, die Gerichte zurückzugeben, uns dann aber dagegen entschieden. Das Dessert war dafür ein echtes Highlight: Leche Frita mit Salz-Karamell-Eis – für uns eine neue Entdeckung und geschmacklich hervorragend. Der Service war nicht ganz so aufmerksam und freundlich, wie vielfach beschrieben. Subjektiv hatten wir den Eindruck, dass sich stärker um ältere Gäste gekümmert wurde – vielleicht ist das auch die Hauptzielgruppe. Die Fleisch- und Fischgerichte an den Nachbartischen sahen sehr gut aus und wirkten deutlich frischer und heißer serviert. Beim nächsten Besuch würden wir uns wohl eher für eines dieser Gerichte entscheiden. Insgesamt war es ein gemischter Abend mit schönem Ambiente, kleinen Schwächen beim Essen und Service – dennoch bleibt El Trillo eine Empfehlung, vor allem wegen der besonderen Lage.
