Very impressive castle and in remarkable condition considering its history. Entry is free all year round. We parked on the street adjacent to the castle and walked for 2 minutes. The climb to the top isn’t for the feint hearted as the wrought iron stairs feel like they’re ages with the castle, additionally you can see through the gaps of the stairs whilst climbing. The views from the top are stunning and it can get windy too. Lots of information boards dotted around the castle telling you about its history.

Az útról nem is lehet észrevenni a fák mögé dombtetőre rejtett hangulatos kastélyromot. Az 1400-as évekbeli építésével a környék második legidősebb építménye a glasgow-i katedrális után. Bejárható az egyik rekonstruált torony minden szintje. A tetejéről pompás körpanoráma nyílik a környékre. A II. világháborúban légvédelmi megfigyelők is használták. Kevés látogató látogat ide egyszerre, ami előny.
