Ich habe spontan zur Feier für fünf Personen reserviert. Wir kannten das Amigos Tapas zuvor nicht, jedoch liebe ich Tapas und wollte unbedingt Tapas essen. Meine Schwiegereltern hatten zuvor noch nie Tapas gegessen und sie haben es genossen. Die Tapas waren wirklich sehr gut, auch der Fisch Zart und lecker! Wir waren alle satt und gingen glücklich nach Hause. Der Service ist auch super und zuvorkommen. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen.

Very spontaneously today we decided to spend an evening as tourists in our own city of Zurich. Since my wife has made it her mission to try every Spanish restaurant, today it was the turn of Amigo Tapas in Niederdorf. The very first thing I noticed upon arrival was that practically every table had a little folder with the word reserved on it. After asking if they had a table for two, the waitress politely apologized and said she could only give it to us for an hour and a half. Without great expectations, we sat down and ordered a bottle of still water and a bottle of Hacienda Monasterio, one of our favorite Ribera del Duero wines. I did not expect to feel immediately transported into a small Andalusian town, where the waitresses—and especially Lara, who looked after us wonderfully—showed tremendous professionalism, warmth, and were simply flawless. My wife, our little dog Alma, and I all felt genuinely welcome. The kitchen more than lived up to the promise of the service. Practically every single dish was perfect. We ordered patatas bravas, pimientos de Padrón, chipirones a la brasa, chorizos a la Riojana, a mix of croquetas, and gambas al ajillo. Each new dish was an escalation of flavor. The two women in the kitchen are true artists of their craft. I joked that I should write a terrible review, out of fear that if I wrote a good one, I’d never again find a table at this place. Unfortunately, my conscience doesn’t allow me to do that, so I have to be absolutely honest: this place is truly incredible. The food is delicious, and the staff never skimps on a smile. Absolutely recommended—I hope it gets all the recognition it deserves. As for me, in the future I’ll be forced to call ahead to book a table and will no longer be able to just walk in spontaneously. 🤣😂
