Had a pleasant business dinner at Tapir, located on a quiet street in Östermalm, just a short walk from the busier core of the neighborhood. The restaurant has a generous outdoor seating area where I sat, but the tables were placed very close together, which made the experience feel a bit cramped. That’s the main reason for dropping one star on the atmosphere. The menu is French-inspired with a modern touch. I started with steak tartare and followed up with halibut — both were well-executed and nicely presented. The flavors were clean and satisfying, and considering the price point (especially for the halibut), the value felt right. I did find myself wishing for just a bit more finesse or a unique twist that would really elevate the experience — and if the prices had been slightly higher, that would’ve held the meal back from a full five stars. Service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and well-paced. The overall vibe is refined without being stiff, and perfect for a focused dinner with colleagues or clients. I’d definitely come back — Tapir is a tasteful, well-run spot that delivers quality across the board, with just a few small tweaks needed to hit the top mark.

A perfect example of a classic French restaurant, ticking all the boxes for food, service, ambience and clientele. I went on a Thursday night in June and was able to get an outdoor table despite walking in without a reservation. Everything was prepared to perfection and the accompanying wine list was well chosen. Both the FOH staff and wait staff were delightful. I paid 664SEK (without tip), which is about £50 or €60, for three courses, a glass of red, and a postprandial tea. I'd have happily paid double that. There are probably a few places in Paris that do this better, but not many.
