Had dinner here in February, but I'd do this restaurant a disservice by not leaving a review - nothing short of tremendous food! Real quality meat and fish, everything was tender and very tasty - I can particularly recommend the chicken thighs, although everything we ordered was great. The side dishes complemented the meat perfectly, especially the various dips and sauces, with interesting, savoury spices. I could basically eat the coconut-steamed white rice by itself, it was that good - although our eyes were definitely more hungry than our guts, as we ordered an extra portion of rice, together with a whole slew of different meats and sauces. We struggled with finishing everything, to the amusement of our waiter, which I have to give special kudos to - his laugh and overall relaxed, but service-minded attitude really lifted the whole experience! Not one to let good food go to waste, I managed to down everything - then noticed other customers asking to take leftovers home. All in all, a great experience, and the food (which was A LOT) and two beers each came to around 800 NOK per head. Heartily recommended, and now I feel like paying Senegal a visit - although the food here definitely felt authentic!

Like others have mentioned, the service really took away from what could have been a great experience. We had booked the table more than a month in advance, but when we arrived at 18:00, it felt like they weren’t expecting us at all. Only one other table was occupied, yet no one greeted us properly. A man who seemed to be the chef or kitchen staff eventually sat us down and kindly offered us a ginger shot, which was a nice touch. However, he didn’t explain anything about the menu or come back to take our order. It seemed like there may have been a language barrier, which made things a bit unclear from the start. Anyways, things like that do happen sometimes, so I did not mind. However, after waiting about 30 minutes with no follow-up, one of us had to go to the counter just to place our order. Not long after, the original server came in through the front door carrying ingredients, which made it clear the food hadn’t even started being prepared. When the food finally arrived at 19:20, nearly an hour and a half after we had been seated, the order was wrong. We pointed it out politely, but the mistake was brushed off with a laugh. The same thing happened again with a second dish, and although the server did eventually admit both mistakes, he laughed it off again instead of offering a proper apology. That said, the food itself was genuinely good and offered unique flavors you don’t come across often in Oslo. I personally value food more than service, and that was the saving grace for me and this review. (I could not get a clean shot of the food as there were so much trouble with the food coming out, but here is at least some of it)
