I can’t fault the food, it was fantastic. But unfortunately the service let this beautiful place down. I understand Saturdays are busy days and the staff are under a lot of pressure, however a solution needs to be sorted so customers aren’t deterred from coming back. Waiting for a table was longer than needed, considering there were plenty of tables free, we then waited too long for the menus and table to be set, and then at least 15 mins waiting for a staff member to come over to take our order, so my partner had to go up to the till to order- at which point two staff members in succession then came over to the table asking if I was ready to order. It was topped off when we asked for some sauce for one of the dishes, which didn’t come until we had finished our plates… so at least another 15/20 mins waiting for a dip… it’s not great. The discretionary 12.5% service charge felt like an insult considering our disappointment at the service. I’m sorry to write such a critical review considering the food and the environment is so lovely.
