That was the most fantastic birthday party I’ve ever been to. I felt like a Rock star with all the attention and superb service. All the team in the Spirit of Man were wonderful, caring, helpful, attentive and patient. Our group ranged from 30 years old to 85 but everyone had a fabulous time. The actual Immersive Experience was absolutely fabulous and ALL my guests couldn’t stop bubbling about it (and still are!). At least 3 couples have told me they’re planning to take their teenage children or grandchildren back to see War of The Worlds. My wife and I went to the War of The Worlds Immersive Experience at The Spirit of Man bar in Leadenhall Street, London about 3 years ago. We loved it and when I was trying to decide on a "special" location for my 75th birthday party I thought of taking my friends and family back there. It felt like a bit of a gamble because while some were ardent fans of Jeff Wayne’s iconic album, others hadn’t even read the H. G. Wells book. I needn’t have worried. I initially contacted Fever the ticket company on the web but they really didn't seem to cope with the idea of me and nearly 30 friends coming as a group. I managed to contact Layered Reality direct and from then on everything went smoothly. Cherise in the office and then Tom and his team at the bar were wonderful and went out of their way to make us all welcome. The Immersive Experience remains one of the most thrilling, theatrical events in London and is way ahead of its time. We split into 2 groups for the experience but met in the Red weed bar halfway through before emerging triumphant from our interplanetary survival. Some friends chickened out of the underground experience and came just for the meal so the bar team had to deal with people arriving for our party all afternoon. Despite this, drinks were provided quickly and everyone looked after. This worked as a team building exercise too as friends and family who had not met before got caught up in the whole atmosphere and chatted like old pals. The food was terrific and the drinks a real treat. The whole themed bar and event gave everyone something in common to talk about and the icing on the cake (literally) was brought all the way from Buckingham by my son and daughter-in-law but was then carefully prepared and served by the excellent kitchen and bar staff. The only real problem I have now is that more than one of my friends has asked me what I’m going to do for my 80th birthday. Ah well, hopefully Layered Reality will have moved on to even more great experiences. We’ve now been to War of The Worlds twice, Gunpowder Plot and we’re booked for Elvis Evolution - so what’s next? Date of experience: January 2025

We ate here as part of a ticket and meal deal for the war of the worlds experience. The restaurant is part of the reception and shop for WOTW where people wait to be called for their experience and every 10 minutes or so some 'survivors' come back and everyone has to clap and cheer. The burger was tasty and there was a lot of chips but I have to say I was disappointed with the tiny portion of coleslaw which was literally one mouthful. Maybe they had low stocks that day?

This was a family visit (over 18 years). A great mix of immersion experience, as in you are involved in the story, and virtual reality. The cast of actors were brilliant and thoroughly engaging throughout. I've been a lifelong fan of the story and love this version Jeff Wayne's musical creation. Would highly recommend.
