I’ve been to two other Cheshire Cheese pubs, and none of them have disappointed, this one is no exception. I’d heard there was a Cheshire Cheese pub near Tower Bridge, but I wasn’t exactly sure where it was until I randomly stumbled upon it. From the outside, it looked inviting, with a nice seating area and the impression that it would be spacious inside. So I decided to pop in and give it a go. When I stepped in, I noticed a bunch of screens, not just for sports, but also showing various ads and promotions. It threw me off a bit, but it also made me think this pub probably gets a lot of attention and must have a good reputation if companies are advertising here. Inside, the pub was indeed pretty and spacious. I know there’s a second floor, but I stayed on the main floor with the main bar. When I approached the bar, the bartender was very welcoming. I’ll be honest though, I wasn’t quite myself that day, so apologies if I didn’t respond as normally as I should have. I ordered myself a half pint of IPA and sat inside, taking in more of the atmosphere. It was quite relaxing since it wasn’t busy at the time. I can imagine it gets much busier, judging by the amount of empty glasses outside. Ideally, the bartenders would collect them, but I understand it’s not always possible, especially since I only saw one bartender working. If they’re not allowed to leave the bar unattended, or if another staff member was on break, that would explain it. I had a look at the food and drink prices on the menu and behind the bar, and I was honestly surprised at how cheap everything was, especially for central London. It was shocking in the best way. I didn’t order any food, as I wasn’t hungry, and I didn’t see any being served to other customers, so I can’t comment on that. Overall, from my short visit, I found the pub relaxing, the bartender friendly, and the atmosphere great. My only suggestion would be to clear the glasses outside when possible, if staff can leave the bar, since it’s not the nicest sight having them scattered around the ledge.
