A very good dinner place inside a hotel in Lisbon, located next to a very old church. The service was very good, and very attentive waiters and sommelier. Would very much recommend the octopus. Honestly the most tender one I have ever had. It was an Elevated Portuguese dinner but with options of some other things as well.

It is a beautiful space - where monks formerly held business meetings next to the Igreja de São Domingos. But them calling it "one of the city's best-kept secrets" is a manipulative fantasy at best. This is one of the most touristed parts of town. I do like how they make familiar Portuguese food with modern and elevated twists. The kitchen is quite solid, and the cuisine will be familiar to Portuguese plus some justification for the prices here. And the prices are for tourists: mains run €26 and up. And where you can often find a decent bottle of Portuguese wine at a high-end restaurant in town for €25 or less, they offer no red wines below €34. The labels are good, however - just with a lot of markup. The service needs work, however. While courteous and friendly, they lack efficacy. They follow the practice of keeping your wine and water bottles out of reach, but they do not bother to check in on you. We let our meals go cold trying to flag someone down during an un-busy dinner service until we got up and grabbed the bottle to serve ourselves. The 7.5% added gratuity is way out of proportion here. We even had dining room staff doing inventory and tearing down wine boxes in the middle of dinner service.

We had an amazing experience here with every one of the staff. Joāo was our server and he was very kind to me, professional and helpful. Very professional and the food was amazing, the spicy garden drink was an experience we never had, they give you a flower to chew on and it enxhances the drinking experience, you’ll have to see what I am talking about! Our food was traditional but modernized, tasted amazing.
