I always like to bring home local made items from my trips. I really enjoyed this craft market during my day in Galway. I picked up a few things but the blown glass with mushrooms are my favorite. I didn't get a card from the guy who made them but I wish I had. If there is a way someone could send me the info for that crafter id appreciate it. I highly recommend visiting this craft market when you are in Galway. It's easy to find and offers a lot of locally handmade items that are wonderful reminders of your visit to Ireland

This is such a lovely market. During my studies, I came here for the Saturday market every week. There is such a gorgeous array of food items and some nice gifts as well. The seafood always looks fantastic, as does the produce. I particularly always seek out the samphire (sea beans), they’re so delightfully bright and crunchy which make them a great add-in to any salad or stir-fry. They’re also lovely cooked in with a little brown butter. If you enjoy cooking, this market is a feast for the senses and gives you so many wonderful items to work with. There are vendors selling their food items as well. Boychik donuts is my favorite, and I must mention him first. He makes the donuts right in front of you and you can choose to have it plain or with cinnamon, sugar, or cocoa. Galway Bagels also has a stand here and I’ve enjoyed their bagels multiple times. As someone studying in Galway from NYC, we really do miss our bagels when we leave home. There’s will help you fill that void- but bring your own “everything but the bagel” seasoning from home. There’s a stand serving some South African sausages (Boerewors) and in years prior they had German bratwurst. There are many other things to try. It is advised to keep cash on you, especially for the food vendors, you can grab the nearest ATM at Lynch’s Castle if needed.
