Jazzland Club was founded over thirty years ago and is considered one of the oldest jazz clubs in all of Vienna. Here, in the basement beneath St. Ruprecht's church, nearly all of the best Austrian musicians have performed. Today, the "Jazzland" club is well-known throughout the city and is thriving more than ever. In addition, this venue has been visited by over 300 stars from the USA - among them such legends as Max Kaminsky, Teddy Wilson, Clark Terry, Benny Carter, Art Farmer, Ray Brown, Herb Ellis, and Lee Konitz. This place was so cool. It got packed very quickly, the stage is in the main room and there are two other rooms by the bar where you can hear the music but cannot see the band. We got there at 930pm, the band started around 7pm, and there were no spots in the main room. Eventually a couple opened up and we got to watch and listen. Everyone is crammed together with chairs blocking everyone in their seats and tables to be prepared for that. It is also very hot down there. It was 18 euro each cover plus drinks at the bars and it’s all cash only. Overall was a great experience, they played until about midnight.

CASH ONLY both for entrance tickets and for food&drink. Be forewarned, we were not and had to budget less than we would have liked to spend. A very cool vibe, food was fine but not the highlight of the evening. Seating is very tight, we arrived 45 minutes before showtime and had limited sight lines to the stage.
