We got off to a bad start when we were told that the previous diners at our table hadn't finished. Le Bistrot allocates a time you have the table for and it didn't seem unreasonable to hurry the previous diners who were talking over coffee. We were asked to sit in the hall under the stairs and had to wait 10 minutes before our table was ready. Once we got to our table, the food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. There is an extensive menu with dishes not common on menus in Scotland. All was fresh and well-prepared.

Nice French brasserie in the French consulate. Reasonably affordable. Had the French onion soup followed by the beouf Bourguignon. Both were great. Beef was a teeny bit dry but still very edible. Overall I really liked it .
