We loved how close to the bus stop this was to get into central Edinburgh. However, although rated 3 stars the rooms which are clean and big fall far below that mark, ours was dark, broken blinds and curtains, a dangerous hairdryer that over heated were on the list of issues. When we arrived just 7 mins before check in time, the manager was rather short and said can't check in till 2, then said she had a full changeover day (only 6 rooms?) lastly she stated her cleaner had called in sick and so replacement was running behind, all that had to be said was sorry running behind feel free to have a drink or go for a wonder be ready in ***. The breakfast is a joke we stayed 2 nights and had 2 different people doing the breakfast, neither wrote down what you were ordering and so both mornings got orders wrong. As the manager is the person taking orders, deliveries and cooking breakfast (one very badly) you don't feel you can say anything, plus we had things booked and couldn't hang around to catch them.

The Hampton was great! It is a short walk from the MurrayField stadium. It's also about a 15 - 20-minute walk out of the center city, which I enjoyed. It was quiet and peaceful at night. The bottom floor is a bar/restaurant. Before checking in, my sister and I got lunch and some drinks there. The food was good, the drinks were cold, and the service from our waiter was exceptional. Our room was large! There was plenty of room to move around, relax, watch TV, get ready, and store our luggage. It's not a "modern" room, but it was clean and charming. I highly recommend a stay here. ❤️
