All’angolo nord-est del Rynek ci sono tre piccoli edifici appartenenti ai cosiddetti “Altaristi”, cioè i Guardiani dell’altare. Essi rappresentano quanto rimane delle case che circondavano il cimitero accanto alla Chiesa di Santa Elisabetta. Le tre strutture, due delle quali sono collegate tra di loro in un unico edificio, vengono chiamate “Hansel e Gretel” (Jaś i Małgosia). Il loro nome deriva proprio dal fatto che esse sembrano richiamare a due figure che si tengono per mano. Sull’arco che li collega si trova un’iscrizione in latino che recita “La morte è la porta per la vita”. Il primo dei due edifici, Jaś, fu realizzato nel XVI secolo ed è decorato con bassorilievi opera di Eugeniusz Get-Stankiewicz, del quale è presente anche un autoritratto. Il secondo edificio, Malgosia, costruito nel XVIII secolo ospita al piano terra un piccolo locale che è anche negozio di souvenir.
