Flora King, located on 18th Street in the Castro, is definitely going to be one of my new go-to spots. This past week I went with friends for a boys’ night out, and from the moment we walked in, the host and waitress made us feel at home. They warmly greeted us, walked us through the menu and specials, and even gave some great recommendations. I went with the Torando Tournedos (pork tenderloin) and an arugula salad, while my friends ordered the New York strip steaks. Every dish was cooked to perfection—the meats were spot-on and the veggie sides were excellent. The wine and cocktails were also right on point. If we hadn’t been so full, dessert would have been the perfect finish! All in all, Flora King hits that sweet spot of refined meets casual. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the Castro—it’s definitely worth adding to your dining rotation.
