Dinner at A16 on Chestnut was a great experience. A few takeaways:
• They were very accommodating, even moving our reservation up an hour on a busy Saturday with a Giants game in town.
• We switched tables a couple of times because of the heat near the ovens, and by the third move we were comfortable. Staff never made us feel like a burden.
• Casual but stylish vibe. We came straight from a day of biking in tourist clothes and still fit right in.
• Food was excellent. The salsiccia pizza was one of the best I’ve had, the orecchiette pasta was fantastic, and the kids crushed their butter noodles.
• Desserts stood out. The tiramisu was easily the best I’ve had anywhere, my wife loved her cannelloni (though note it has a hint of lemon), and the kids’ vanilla sorbet was a hit.
• Wine list is strong. We had a great bottle of Montepulciano that I gave a 9/10.
• Service was outstanding. Plates cleared quickly, waters refilled nonstop, and staff stayed attentive the entire night.
Only downside was the meatballs, which felt a little bland compared to everything else.
Overall: amazing service, excellent food, and a lively Chestnut Street atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
