The horrors of World War II did not spare the Latvian capital, "gifting" it not only pain, tears, and innocently shed blood but also memorable places. One such place is the Jewish Quarter, which occupies the entire area of School Street.

The Jewish heritage in Riga is not represented by spacious museums, ancient houses, or any specific architecture. Nor is it hidden behind the bright signs of trading shops and stores. The School Street area, like the other few mentions of the perpetually persecuted people, mostly consists of the dark pages of Riga, filled with murders, mass shootings, and executions. The Jewish Quarter today stands as a true symbol of the unbroken spirit and a reminder of the consequences of cruelty from one person to another.
