The food here is great - really traditionally prepared provençale classics. The farcis (peppers and courgettes stuffed with lamb mince) were amazing, as were the mussels, and the house salad was so good. The table service from the waitresses was lovely, and the restaurant is set on a quiet square which makes for a nice setting, but the one down side was the maitre d’; I get that it’s a popular place with visitors, and that a certain level of strictness is required to keep on top of the number of walk-ins, but he was just a bit mean, which made for something of a toxic atmosphere. In my experience of visiting Paris in recent years the old clichéd view on snotty, rude service is almost entirely obsolete, but people like him do still keep that flame burning a little.
